My concern really isn't the hundred plus unwilling expats, is it. My concern is the destruction those hundred plus will lay down on regular people - people who can't defend themselves - if they get angry. If we don't move carefully, it's only a matter of time before things bubble up into outright conflict. And if that happens, it's not going to be the immortals with superpowers who suffer.

A friend got ported out and left me his garage. So I made it useful. We fix up cars and sell 'em and use the proceeds to fund public transit. The associations with imPorts make it so people will pay a premium for our cars. It's been pretty successful. And I like doing something to make people's lives a bit less shitty here. Compensates for a bit of the bloody murder and torture we do.

Internet activism, for one. Don't laugh. Celebrities badgering people to give micro-donations is pretty bloody effective. I use the nightclub I'm part owner of too - give it to groups for fundraising events. Host a few of my own. Do the occasional fundraising thing on the network, too - raise a few dollars and guilt the bloody sods into giving a shit or two about things beyond their nose. And make it clear who are the shits who still can't be bothered.
